SOCIETY OF ST VINCENT DE PAUL (SSVP)
This society was founded Blessed Federic Ozanam in Paris in srevice of the poor.
In our parish, the society comprise of lay men and women who help to reach out to the poor and needy whom we call our Friends in Need (FINs).
Our society gives cash aid and supermarket vouchers to individuals (single person with no family) and families on the second Sunday of each month. During the festive seasons such as Easter, we have lunch catered and invite them to our parish.
We make house visits in groups of three to each household every three months. Our cash aid comes from the monthly second collections at the weekend Masses and other donations to our mission.
When do we meet?
We have our monthly meeting after giving out rations. This is on every second Sunday of the month at 10.30am, usually in St Michael Room.
