The Legion of Mary was founded in Ireland by Frank Duff in 1921 and came to Asia around 1950. These Catholics put themselves under the prayer and guidance of Mary, Mother of God, asking her to help them to pray and serve as she did.

What do we do?

In our parish we have two groups, or presidia as they are called: one in English, Mother of Perpetual Help Praesidium and one in Chinese, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary.

The groups serve in teams of six to 15 or 20, once a week, to pray the Holy Rosary, to report on the way we have tried to reach out to others, and plan how to help the parish community to grow in faith.

We are available under the guidance of the parish priest to a variety of ministries: to visit Catholic homes, visit the sick, teach catechism, distribute Catholic magazines etc.

When do we meet?

English group: Every Wednesday, 7.30pm to 8.30pm, St Teresa Pastoral Centre, level 2 meeting rooms
