Volunteers Recruitment
The Safety Council is looking for volunteers to be parking wardens to facilitate better traffic flow in our parish. If you would like to serve, please email: matthias.wee@gmail.com

The parish media team is looking for volunteers who have experience in the following areas:
Graphic design, social media, web design/administration, photography and videography. There is also a need for volunteers to do media projection at Mass, no experience required. If you would like to join the team, please email stc.sgmedia@gmail.com

 

Blessing on Second Weekend of the Month
A special blessing at the end of Masses for those celebrating wedding anniversaries in February.

 

Collection for the Poor
The second collection by the Society of St Vincent de Paul for the poor during the weekend Masses on 3 & 4 Feb was S$11,698.20 in total. Thank you very much for your generosity.

Please note that there will be no gathering on 15 Feb. The meet-up will resume on 22 Feb.

 

Second Collection for GIFT
Next weekend, being the third weekend of the month, there will be a second collection to receive your monthly pledges to Catholic Foundation’s GIFT campaign.

GIFT is Catholic Foundation’s regular giving campaign to fund the numerous organisations involved in families, youth, evangelisation, etc, as well as building projects in the archdiocese.

Kindly complete your pledge envelopes with the cash/cheque enclosed and drop them into the collection bags that will be passed round. The envelopes can be found at the bulletin stands in church.

Important Notice: Change of Mass Times
Please be reminded that the evening Masses on Saturday and Sunday in our parish will start at 5.30pm instead of 6pm.

Novena service on Saturday will be at 4.45pm in the main church instead of the chapel.

The Bible Sharing Group gets together to read the Bible, reflect, and share their faith experience.

Method used: The Seven-Step Gospel Sharing

Objectives:

  • To share and practise the Word of God – the Bible
  • To have fellowship and bonding among members
  • To encourage support among members in times of need

Join in and be renewed by the Word of God, as they study the Letters of Saint Paul.

Date: Every first and third Sundays of the month
Time: 10.15am to 12.15pm

ASH WEDNESDAY + LENT

14 February 2018, Ash Wednesday
Mass, blessing and imposition of ashes at 12.30pm and 8pm.

Ash Wednesday is an obligatory day of fasting and abstinence.

Abstinence for those aged 14 onwards is to refrain from eating any meat.

Fasting for those aged above 18 and under 60 is to have one main meal or two small ones.

 

Stations of the Cross + Friday Fast (Note exceptions for Friday 16 Feb)
Fridays are days of fasting and abstinence.

However, for 16 February, which is the Chinese New Year holiday, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei has decided that dispensation will be given to all Catholics from fast and abstinence from meat on that day.

Devotional prayers of the Way of the Cross are on every Friday during Lent at 6.30pm in church after the evening Mass. Note that this will start from 23 February.

Evening Mass on Fridays will be celebrated in church instead of in the chapel. There will be no evening Mass on 16 February.
