Parish Advent Retreat
All parishioners are invited to make room for Jesus in this Advent retreat as we give thanks for the end of our liturgical year and prepare ourselves for Advent.

Sister Francisca Tan, RC (Religious of the Cenacle) will be conducting the retreat, with the theme, “Emmanuel – God with Us”.

Time: 9am to 4.30pm
Venue: Auditorium, level 3, Parish House

As lunch will be provided, registration is required for catering purpose. Please register early as seats are limited.

Year-end Children’s Camp
Our Parish Council will be organising a stay-in Children’s Camp from 1 to 3 Dec 2017 for those aged 7 to 12. It will be held at St Francis Xavier Major Seminary, Punggol. For more details, approach the catechists leading your child’s class.

 

Second Collection for GIFT
This weekend, being the third weekend of the month, there will be a second collection to receive your monthly pledges to Catholic Foundation’s GIFT campaign.

GIFT is Catholic Foundation’s regular giving campaign to fund the numerous organisations involved in families, youth, evangelisation, etc, as well as building projects in the archdiocese.

Kindly complete your pledge envelopes with the cash/cheque enclosed and drop them into the collection bags that will be passed round. The envelopes can be found at the bulletin stands in church.

Sunday School Children’s Mass
The last day of the Sunday catechism classes is on 26 Nov. The 8.30am Mass on the day is a Children’s Mass. All students, parents/guardians and catechists are encouraged to attend.

 

Briefing Day for Infant Baptism
The next Infant Baptism will be held on Sunday 3 December, 4pm.
To prepare for this, there will be a meeting for parents whose babies are getting baptised, and the godparents need to be present as well.

Parishioners are welcome to get together for an afternoon of Divine Mercy prayers and fellowship to bond with each other.

The Caritas Humanitarian Aid & Relief Initiatives Singapore (CHARIS) is making its annual appeal for the Humanitarian Aid Fund to support overseas humanitarian work. Flyers and envelopes are available in the parish.

Nativity Set Display
The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is organising a Nativity Set Display event and invites individuals, families, and Catholic schools and organisations to build a nativity scene that recreates the story of the birth of Christ so as to share with others the true spirit of Christmas. Qualifying entries will be put up for viewing at the cathedral from 9 Dec 2017 to 8 Jan 2018. Selected entries may also opt to offer the set for auction to raise money for the restoration project of St Joseph’s Church (Victoria Street).

Marriage Encounter (ME) Weekend
Marriage Encounter facilitates life-changing weekends for married couples, by transforming the way husband and wife communicate. The enriching experience forges greater intimacy and a closer relationship.

ME benefits both young couples who want to build a strong marital foundation as well as those who have clocked many years together and strive to keep the flame burning strong.

The next ME weekend conducted in English will be held from 1 to 3 Dec (8pm Fri to 6pm Sun).

Pieta Singapore
Pieta is a support group made up of Catholic parents who have suffered the loss of their children. The mission is to provide support to other bereaved parents and foster a sense of solidarity in God’s comfort and wisdom.

Pieta holds sessions with scripture, prayer and reflection.

Date: Every fourth Tuesday of the month
Time: 7.30pm to 9pm
Place: Agape Village, 7A Toa Payoh Lorong 8

Sessions are open to all parents who are coming to terms with losing their beloved children, regardless of age and no matter how recent or long ago.

Share-A-Pot @ Agape Village
Know of any elders who would enjoy a bowl of nutritious soup, some meaningful activities and making new friends?

In collaboration with Alexandra Health Services, Agape Village will be conducting a weekly Share-A-Pot programme where seniors with little access to proper meals and / or facing neglect may get together to rebuild their bodies, minds and spirits over a good bowl of broth.
