Outreach by the Daughters of Saint Paul
The Daughters of St Paul will be at our parish this weekend with a variety of media materials to be sold, including bibles, books, DVDs and CDs, to help us nourish our faith and grow closer to God. As part of their fundraising efforts for a new convent,​ ​items including icon tapestries and pearls are also on sale for their building fund. Please give the Sisters your kind support, thank you

 

Third Sunday Fellowship Lunch
All are welcome to a fellowship lunch in the canteen after the 12.30pm Mass

 

Second Collection for GIFT
This being the third weekend of the month, there will be a second collection to receive your monthly pledges to Catholic Foundation’s GIFT campaign.

GIFT is Catholic Foundation’s regular giving campaign to fund the numerous organisations involved in families, youth, evangelisation, etc, as well as building projects in the archdiocese.

The contributions from our parish from the start of the campaign last November to June this year has been more than S$103,000. For an update on the collections so far, read the report.

Kindly complete your pledge envelopes with the cash/cheque enclosed and drop them into the collection bags that will be passed round. The envelopes can be found at the bulletin stands in church.

Tickets are available at the church canteen or at the sales booth outside the church side entrance after Mass. Proceeds will go towards the church maintenance fund.

PILGRIMAGE IN MY BACKYARD (PIMBY) | 27 Aug 2017

Pilgrimages of faith need not be overseas. There is one happening right here at our backyard!

Explore and discover the roots of how the Church of St Teresa came to be built on Singapore soil, listen to the faith stories on the zeal of the early missionaries and the fervour of the lay people. The journey will include a visit to Carmelite Monastery.

Marriage Encounter (ME) Weekend
Marriage Encounter facilitates life-changing weekends for married couples, by transforming the way husband and wife communicate. The enriching experience forges greater intimacy and a closer relationship.

ME benefits both young couples who want to build a strong marital foundation as well as those who have clocked many years together and strive to keep the flame burning strong.

There are still slots for the next ME Weekend conducted in English, from 1 Sep to 3 Sep (8pm Fri to 6pm Sun).

Jesuit Refugee Service Fundraiser Movie
In aid of the Jesuit Refugee Service (Singapore), a movie screening to raise money and support all the works it does. The charity group, founded in Singapore in 1999, is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve and defend the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people in Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Nepal.

Workshop for Youth with Depression
Arise and Shine! is a group intervention workshop for young adults (between the ages of 18-30), who have just been diagnosed with their first depressive episode. In this workshop, participants will have get more knowledge about depression. They will learn behavioural and cognitive strategies to manage depressive symptoms.

Pieta Singapore
Pieta is a support group made up of Catholic parents who have suffered the loss of their children. The mission is to provide support to other bereaved parents and foster a sense of solidarity in God’s comfort and wisdom.

Pieta holds sessions with scripture, prayer and reflection.

Date: Every fourth Tuesday of the month

Pilgrimage to Myanmar
There will be a 7-day trip to from 6 to 12 November 2017 to Yangon and Mandalay, with visits to at least 10 churches, and daily Mass.
Other sites to visit on the trip: Shwedagon Pagoda, Aungsan Bogyoke Market, National Museum, a multicultural neighbourhood, etc.
The spiritual director for the pilgrimage is Reverend Father George LaRing, diocesan priest in Myanmar.

Share-A-Pot @ Agape Village
Know of any elders who would enjoy a bowl of nutritious soup, some meaningful activities and making new friends?

In collaboration with Alexandra Health Services, Agape Village will be conducting a weekly Share-A-Pot programme where seniors with little access to proper meals and / or facing neglect may get together to rebuild their bodies, minds and spirits over a good bowl of broth.

Church Canteen Food
Please note that the canteen will be selling food that is bought from a licensed food vendor.

The church is not allowed to cook and sell food on our premises, as we do not have the approved licence from the National Environment Agency and have also not fulfilled the safety requirements of the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

We thank you for your continuous support and look forward to seeing you at our canteen for your regular Sunday breakfast.

We pray for those who have joined the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) to learn about our Catholic faith or to seek baptism. The 41 inquirers and 1 candidate (non-Catholic Christians) celebrate their Rite of Acceptance this weekend at the sunset Mass on 5 Aug.

 

Collection for the Poor
There will be a second cash collection at this weekend’s Masses for the poor and the needy, under the care of the Society of St Vincent de Paul at our parish. Please give generously to the families and individuals receiving aid. Thank you.
