We pray for our facilitators, sponsors and all catechumens (above) undergoing the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), as they prepare to attend their retreat this weekend at the St Francis Xavier Retreat House in Punggol. Fr Valerian Cheong will be the retreat master. May the Holy Spirit inspire and strengthen the catechumens to walk towards the Living Waters of baptism this Easter in April.
Parish Parent Formation Session
All parents and guardians are invited and reminded to attend this session on Sun 26 Feb at 10am in the Auditorium (level 3, Parish House).
Catechists will present the new syllabus which was introduced not too long ago. We encourage your very presence on this day as we work together to give our children a more wholesome catechetical education.
Dedication of the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd
For those who were not able to attend the Cathedral Dedication celebrations, we are “bringing our Mother Church celebrations to our parish” through sale of souvenir items at our bookshop. Items available while stocks last. Bookshop opens on Sundays during daytime Masses.
1. Original 170-year-old brick pieces from the Cathedral back when it was just a church built in 1847 (pictured above)
Each piece costs S$30. The bricks were extracted when the Cathedral pediment and columns collapsed in January 2016, otherwise, this collector’s item would not be available.
2. Commemorative coins marking the Dedication celebration
Each set of 3 coins in a keepsake box costs S$20. The coins feature Saint Laurent Imbert (whose words before being martyred gave the Cathedral its name), Father Jean Marie Beurel (who blessed and opened the church in 1847), and the Cathedral with the Archdiocese’s coat of arms
3. Latest booklet on the restored Cathedral
Each book costs S$5 and features coloured photos and write-ups
Stewardship Report 2016
This is the summary financial report last year for our parish. The report will be put up on the noticeboard at the canteen for one month. Please email the parish office at email@example.com should there be any query on the report.
