Annual Retreat for Priests
The priests of the diocese will be away for their yearly retreat from 3 to 7 July (Mon to Fri).
There shall be no daily Masses at 6 pm. Communion Service will be conducted by our Extra-Ordinary Communion Ministers. Please pray for all the priests who will be attending the Retreat.

Personal Moral Compass: Ethics of Love, Sex and Marriage

Pilgrimage to Myanmar
There will be a 7-day trip to from 6 to 12 November 2017 to Yangon and Mandalay, with visits to at least 10 churches, and daily Mass.
Other sites to visit on the trip: Shwedagon Pagoda, Aungsan Bogyoke Market, National Museum, a multicultural neighbourhood, etc.

First Holy Communion
We rejoice as close to 60 children from our Sunday catechism classes, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the Bridging Programme will be receiving their First Holy Communion this Sunday at the 12.30pm Mass. We pray that they will remain firmly in friendship with the Lord and be guided always in their faith by their parents, teachers and friends!

Second Collection for GIFT
This weekend being the third weekend of the month, there will be a second collection to receive your monthly contributions to Catholic Foundation’s GIFT (Giving in Faith and Thankfulness) project if you are giving by cash or cheque.

To support the archdiocese’s 10-year pastoral plan for a more vibrant, missionary and evangelistic Church, the Catholic Foundation will have to raise $238 million over the next 7 years. The money is to fund the operating costs of numerous organisations in the archdiocese that are involved in families, youth, evangelisation, etc, as well as for building projects such as church facilities, a seminary, and a retirement home for priests.

Details about the GIFT programme and how to make donations can be found in the GIFT booklet and on the Catholic Foundation’s website, gift.catholicfoundation.sg.

As Catholics, it is our duty to support and help build and grow our Church, and you are highly encouraged to contribute on a regular monthly basis.

The collection bags being passed around are to collect any cash or cheques you may wish to offer. If you have already given through monthly GIRO or credit card deductions, you need not contribute further unless you wish to.

Parishioners who give their money through GIRO, credit cards or GIFT envelopes with their names and contact information may check on their contributions through the GIFT website.

If this is the first time you are signing up to contribute by GIRO, kindly have your pledge envelopes ready with GIRO form completed, and drop them into the collection bags that will be passed around. Pledge envelopes may be found at the bulletin stands.

A MARIAN PILGRIMAGE | 26 June 2017

Join the Golden Years Club for the first of three pilgrimages it is organising in conjunction with the 100-year anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal.

On Monday 26 June (public holiday in lieu of Hari Raya Puasa), they will head to two churches for a pilgrimage, guided by Sister Julia of the Infant Jesus Sisters.

All are welcome to take part.

Cost: S$10 per person. Register at our canteen with payment after morning Masses on Sunday or at the parish office on weekdays.

During the month of May, the Rosary is recited 20 minutes before the daily evening Mass and Novena on Saturday at the chapel, and before Sunday 6pm Mass in church.

 

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord
We celebrate the feast of the Ascension of Our Lord, which commemorates the completion of the earthly work of redemption of Jesus and His return to heaven by His own power.

All are to attend Mass on this holy day of obligation. Mass times are as follows:
Wed 24 May 2017 at 8pm
Thurs 25 May 2017 at 12.30pm and 8pm

There will be no 6pm Mass on both days.

Briefing Day for Infant Baptism
The next Infant Baptism will be held on Sunday 4 June, 4pm, in our parish.
To prepare for this, there will be a meeting for parents whose babies are getting baptised, and the godparents need to be present as well.

Collection for the Poor
The second collection by the Society of St Vincent de Paul for the poor during the weekend Masses on 6 & 7 May was S$10,567.20 in total. Thank you so much for your great generosity.

Do you know someone who may be seeking baptism or wanting to know more about the Catholic faith? Invite them to journey with us in the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), starting 5 May.

Marian Month of May
During the month of May, the Rosary is recited 20 minutes before the daily evening Mass and Novena on Saturday at the chapel, and before Sunday 6pm Mass in church.

 

Second Collection for GIFT
Next weekend being the third weekend of the month, there will be a second collection to receive your monthly contributions to Catholic Foundation’s GIFT project if you are giving by cash or cheque.

The Catholic Foundation is looking for regular monthly contributions to fund the numerous organisations in the archdiocese that are involved in families, youth, evangelisation, etc, as well as for building projects such as church facilities, a seminary, and a retirement home for priests.

If you prefer to use GIRO, kindly have your pledge envelopes ready with GIRO form completed, and drop them into the collection bags that will be passed around.

PILGRIMAGE IN MY BACKYARD (PIMBY) | 21 May 2017

Pilgrimages of faith need not be overseas. There is one happening right here at our backyard!

Explore and discover the roots of how the Church of St Teresa came to be built on Singapore soil, listen to the faith stories of the first parish priests and the lay people, and find out more about the Carmelite Monastery and the Catholic schools in the area surrounding our parish.

Roadshow for the Humanitarian Forum & Fair 2017
If you are keen to volunteer yourself to work with Caritas Humanitarian Aid & Relief Initiatives, Singapore (CHARIS) or go on a mission trip overseas, you may find out more from its team who will be at our parish this weekend. They will be specifically giving you more information on the CHARIS Humanitarian Forum & Fair, happening on 10 June 2017.

Your donation to this annual archdiocesan fundraising campaign, Charities Week, will provide much needed funding to support our Catholic charities and Agape Village, a project of Caritas Singapore, to serve more than 50,000 beneficiaries in need such as the poor, families, youth and children, prisoners, migrant workers, and persons living with HIV / AIDS.
