Blessings on Fourth Weekend of the Month

Talks on Apologetics: Explaining Your Catholic Faith
The third session of talks by members of the Apostolate for Catholic Truth (ACT) is on this coming Tuesday. Learn about the biblical and historical roots of the Mass, and why it is the most important worship for Catholics. For more details, click here.

 

Parish Hour of Eucharistic Adoration
All are invited to the Holy Hour of Adoration and Benediction at the chapel on Thursday 1 Sep from 8pm to 9pm.

 

Ordination to the Priesthood 
Deacon Francis Vijayan, CSsR, from the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists), and a parishioner from our church, will be ordained a priest by Archbishop William Goh.

Time: 7.30pm
Venue: Church of St Teresa

Please note that there will be limited parking lots on church grounds that evening, so do park your cars at Bukit Purmei housing estate nearby.

After his ordination, Fr Francis Vijayan will be celebrating his first Mass at the Carmelite Monastery on Friday 9 Sep at 6.45pm. All are welcome.

Part of the Catholic Church’s social outreach to the physically challenged community, Able provides rehabilitation therapy, training and job support to enable these members to return to suitable and sustainable employment. Able also offers respite services to family caregivers looking after those who are physically challenged.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Catholic Bishops Conference of Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei have moved the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (on 15 August) to Sunday 14 August this year.

Masses will be celebrated at usual timings on Saturday 13 August at 6pm and on Sunday at 8.30am, 10.30am, 12.30pm and 6pm.

The 20th Sunday of Ordinary Time is not celebrated this year and the liturgy will be that for the Solemnity.

 

Collection for the Poor
The second collection by the Society of St Vincent de Paul for the poor during the weekend Masses on 6 & 7 August was $12,660.30 in total. Thank you so much for your great generosity.

All cheque donations to the society should be made payable to “SSVP St Teresa”.

Catechists Recruitment Drive
We are looking for dedicated adults who are willing to share their Catholic faith with the children and youth of our parish. Our goal is to have sufficient Catechists to each level and to meet this goal, we need YOU. Day of Recollection / Rite Of Acceptance (RCIA)
Those who have joined the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) to learn about our Catholic faith or to seek baptism will be having a day of recollection on Sunday 7 August, before they celebrate the Rite of Acceptance at sunset Mass.

Let us keep them, 25 inquirers and 6 candidates (non-Catholic Christians), in our prayers as they continue their journey, that they may find and draw closer to Christ and His Church.

 

Collection for the Poor
There will be a second cash collection at this weekend’s Masses for the poor and the needy, under the care of the Society of St Vincent de Paul at our parish. Please give generously to the families and individuals receiving aid. Thank you!

The third of a set of three booklets by the Office for the New Evangelisation, titled “Forgiveness”, is available now at our parish. Packed with Scripture passages, prayers, notes and reflection points, it seeks to challenge us to practise forgiveness.
