24 HOURS FOR THE LORD 2016 | 4 & 5 March

For the first time since Pope Francis started the “24 Hours for the Lord” nonstop Eucharistic Adoration and confession in 2014 during Lent, the Singapore diocese is taking part in a combined effort and joining this worldwide prayer event of penance and adoration in this Year of Mercy. ‪#‎24hoursforthelord‬

The 5 designated Year of Mercy pilgrimage churches in Singapore – Church of the Sacred Heart, Church of the Holy Cross, Church of the Risen Christ, Church of St Vincent de Paul and Church of Divine Mercy – will be having overnight Eucharistic Adoration from Friday 4 March to Saturday 5 March.

Head on down to any of these churches and spend some quality time with our Lord and our God, to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, to pray for our own lukewarm hearts and those of others, and to make reparation for evils committed.

Eucharistic Adoration from Friday 4 March, 6pm to Saturday 5 March, 6pm in the main church

Eucharistic Adoration from Friday 4 March, 9am to Saturday 5 March, 9am in the parish hall

PARISH RETREAT | 5-6 March 2016

In conjunction with the Jubilee Year of Mercy, we are privileged to have Sister Maria Lau, IJS, facilitate our parish retreat with the theme ‘Mercy – A Glimpse into the Heart of God’. All are welcome to take part.

Date: 5 & 6 March 2016 (Sat & Sun)
Time: 2.30pm to 5.30pm on both days
Venue: Auditorium, Level 3, Parish House

A retreat is the gift of time and space to relax and refresh one’s spirit. A retreat provides opportunities for reflection, prayer, and renewal of heart in relationship with God.

In keeping with this Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, we are invited to gaze upon Jesus Christ, the face of the Father’s Mercy. With the help of Scripture and Pope Francis’ writings, we will try to unveil God’s free gift of mercy to understand what it means to “Be merciful just as your Father is merciful”. (Luke 6:36)

The programme will include input, personal prayer and reflection, and community prayer.

Kindly register for this retreat by 28 Feb 2016 online, or pick up a form at the bulletin stands in church and drop them into the boxes provided.
