Here it is: A 30-page anniversary magazine filled with loving, moving, and funny testimonies of Fr Michael Arro to celebrate his 60th year of priesthood, as well as messages from well-wishers and those who have worked with him and known him.

Find out what the priests say about happy hour with him and why Fr Arro is likened to a martial artist.

Get a glimpse of the young missionary when his beard was still black (with thanks to contributor Shelley Ee).

And read an interview with the jubilarian himself.

Then continue to pray for this tireless priest, with a prayer he chose for us to do just that.

Family – The Heart of the Church

DEAR parishioners,

I would like to invite you and your spouse to an upcoming workshop on Saturday 18 July 2015 at 2pm. The theme of this workshop is Couples in Love.

This is part of a three-month parish programme from July to September this year in preparation for our parish feast day in October.

In October, a three-week meeting will be held in Rome with around 250 bishops from around the world to discuss family and family life. Together with the Catholic Church, our parish will be celebrating the canonisation of Louis & Zelie Martin, the parents of our patron saint St Teresa.

It will be the first time in the history of the Church that a married couple will be canonised as saints.

In our parish, we will be planning several events for families.

Each month will start off with a sermon on the first or second Sunday, followed by a workshop that will be held on the third Saturday of the same month.

As mentioned above, July’s theme will be Couples in Love, followed by Parents in Love, the theme for August, and lastly, September’s theme will be Families in Love.

Please RSVP by 12 July 2015 for the first workshop.

If you need child-minding help to attend this workshop, please let us know in advance so that we may arrange a group to take care of your child.

We look forward to seeing you at the workshop.

With God’s Love,
Fr Michael Arro

We will be celebrating Fr Arro’s 60 years as priest on Friday 3 July 2015!

He was ordained priest on 3 July 1955.

On this joyous occasion, a Mass will be held at 6pm that day in our church and Bishop William Goh will be with us. Let us gather together and pray with Fr Arro, who was our parish priest for the past 13 years.

Dinner will follow after the Mass for those who have bought tickets. Transport (one way only) has been arranged from our church to the dinner venue at Safra Mount Faber. The bus will leave after the Mass and will fetch parishioners in batches.

For those who are unable to join us at the dinner, on Sunday 5 July, there will be breakfast / brunch / lunch catered for all at the canteen. We will be celebrating Fr Arro’s birthday as well. Everyone is welcome to join in after the 8.30am, 10.30am and 12.30pm Masses!
