An appeal for the Humanitarian Aid Fund
In recent months, typhoons, floods and earthquakes have struck Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Myanmar and India. Hundreds have died and millions of lives impacted by these disasters.

The Humanitarian Aid Fund supports the work of Charis and other Catholic organisations responding to such disasters, as well as other humanitarian situations caused by war, civil strife, poverty and other adverse circumstances.

We seek your generous donations to help those in need overseas.

To contribute to the Humanitarian Aid Fund, please pick up an appeal flyer from our bulletin stands, or issue a crossed cheque payable to “Humanitarian Aid Fund” and post it to Charis, 55 Waterloo Street #07-02 Catholic Centre, Singapore 187954. by Society of St Vincent de Paul, September 2014

Our parish has been helping 77 families in need with NTUC vouchers as well as cash aid that is generously donated by parishioners during the monthly collections at Mass to the society.

As of today, the number of families we help has grown to 132 (or 164 individuals in total).

Every month, we collect around $10,000 for the needy, but that is not enough to cover the cash aid and vouchers now, as the amount we give out has almost doubled with the increased number of families.

In the past 8 months, the society has been running on a deficit, drawing from fast-depleting reserves to cover the shortage.

So we humbly appeal to you to raise your donations to support our parish in helping our brothers and sisters in need.

The collection by the society takes place at Masses on the first weekend of every month. Please help as much as you can.

Thank you in advance for your kind generosity and loving gifts. May God bless you all!
