Every attempt will be made to minimize disruption of access to visitors and no work will be carried out on Sundays. However, internment of remains of loved ones will be allowed. Please bring the contents of this notice to the attention of your relatives and friends who propose to visit niches during the said period. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Thank you.
IN HUMAN RELATIONS No one can do well without effective human relations. The following practical hints are essential for good human relations:
1. Speak clearly and gently 90% of all frictions and misunderstandings are caused by tone of voice. When a man speaks, his words convey thoughts and his tones, his mood. Think before speaking.
2. Be a good listener Listen attentively. 85% of the time should be listening.
3. Be friendly To want to have a friend, one must be one.
4. Be cordial Speak and act as if everything in life is a pleasure.
5. Emphasise understanding, rather than evaluation It is easy and frequently quite self-gratifying to sit in judgement of others. Be generous with praise.
(Taken from The Art of Commonsense Living, by J.Maurus)
"THE ART OF COMMONSENSE LIVING" 1. A little more patience to bear up with this person, with whom I am compelled to live, and who is not at all congenial to me. 2. A little more firmness to continue this work, which duty demands and which is repellent to me. 3. A little more humility to remain at the post, to which God has led and which does not correspond with my dreams and plans. 4. A little more commonsense to take people as they are, and not as I should like them to be. 5. A little more prudence to bother as little as possible about others and their affairs. 6. A little more strength to endure an event which so suddenly and profoundly disturbs my peace of soul. 7. A little more cheerfulness so as not to show that I have been hurt. 8. A little more unselfishness in trying to understand the thoughts and feelings of others. 9. Above all,a little more prayer to draw God to my heart and take counsel with Him. (by J. Maurus)
CHURCH OF STS PETER & PAUL Mass for China Nationals Every 1st Sunday of the month - 8pm
Carmelites Contemplation Hour: An evening of contemplative prayer Every 4th Sunday of the month - 7.30pm - 9pm Adoration Room
BEWARE Do NOT patronise unauthorised people who are selling rosary or religious articles outside the Church.
CHURCH CLEANING Volunteers are needed to clean the house of God. Please come forward to lend us your helping hands. Kindly register with the Parish Office. Kindly note that this will be conducted every FRIDAY.
BEWARE OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS Please do not leave your personal belongings unattended, especially when you are away from your seat to receive Holy Communion. Stealing has been going on for a few weeks.
ANOINTING BEFORE OPERATION Parishioners are encouraged to seek the Sacrament of Holy Anointing before they leave for the hospital for their operation or procedures, rather than to seek a Priest for this Sacrament in hospital after they check-in, just prior to their operation. This will ease the cases of emergency anointing.
MASS INTENTIONS FOR WEEKEND With effect from 24 January 2009, all Masses offered will NOT be announced in the Church. Instead it will be flashed on the LCD screen as parishioners feedback that they are not able to hear the names clearly. Mass intentions received after Friday evening will be prayed for but will not be displayed.
MARIAGES Applications for wedding in our Parish should be made at least six (6) months in advance. This would give couples adequate time to attend Marriage Preparation course (MPC or EE). To apply, please contact any of the priests.
INFANT BAPTISMS are celebrated on the 1st Sunday of even months at 4.30pm. Parents and Godparents are invited to attend the pre-baptism preparation program, the Sunday before baptism at 11.45am. Application forms are available at the Parish or click here to download softcopy form.
